Happy August, residents! This is an extremely special month for us because, not only do we get to expand on our relationships with residents that chose to stay at this community, but we also get to grow new relationships with incoming residents. This month will be jam-packed with events to help everyone on the property get to know each other better and connect to their neighbors in more fun and creative ways. As we start a new leasing term and school semester, if you find yourself at all stressed out, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our staff in the office. If it’s within our power, we’ll help you out in any way we can!
Special Highlight
Here at The Oliver, we provide 24/7 on-call maintenance. That means that whenever you have an emergency maintenance problem, you can simply call the office, and you’ll be forwarded to one of our wonderful maintenance technicians who will be there in no time to help you out!
Reminders & Updates
Rent is due on the first of every month and can be paid via check, money order, or online payment.
Water bills are due at the same time as rent and can be combined with your rent payment.
All work orders can be submitted online using your portal account, or by calling or stopping by the office to let us know.

Welcome to a brand-new academic year. You’re off to a great start having chosen to live at a Campus Advantage community. Our goal is to give you an amazing experience! We’ll be providing you with events, resources, and information to help you thrive.
With that goal in mind, we asked returning residents and Campus Advantage team members for their tips! Here’s some of what they had to say:

- Don’t hesitate to get involved. The only things you will regret are the things you didn’t do.

- Keep an open mind, and take care of one another. You are part of a community, not just a housing facility.
- Set goals for this year. What do you want to experience and accomplish? Make it happen!
- Get to know the staff! The entire team is here to help you succeed.
- Tell us how we can serve you better! Whether it’s an idea for an event or a concern about the community, we want to hear from you.
- Find balance between academics and a life outside of the classroom.
- If you have roommates, set mutual expectations now to avoid future conflicts.
- Join the fun! We’ll have community events for you to join and enjoy all year. Let us know what else you want to see.

Community Events Calendar
Scavenger Hunt — August 17 from 6–8 p.m. — We know how crazy move-in day is. Take a break and have fun with your new roommates at the same time with this exciting scavenger hunt. Come to the clubhouse to collect your list of objectives that must be completed before returning to the office to collect your prizes. The first group to return will get $20 gift cards to Canes!
Move-In Luau — August 18 from 4–6 p.m. — Join us with your friends by The Oliver’s pool for live music entertainment, food, and fun!
Jump-Start Your Day: LSU, BRCC, SU — August 21 from 9 a.m.–noon — Happy first day of class, residents! Join us in the clubhouse for coffee and donuts on your way to class.
Game Night — August 22 from 4–6 p.m. — Join the staff in the clubhouse for a variety of games ranging from Wii, board games, and more!
Get to Know Your Community Assistant — August 23, All Day — You may hear a knock on your day today! Just a heads up, it’s your own personal Community Assistant introducing themselves to you in case you ever need something. They’re there any time you need them. They may also bring some sweets with them, so open up!
Pizza Wars — August 24 from noon–2 p.m. — Local pizzerias will be providing pizza for our residents to vote on! Your favorite pizza will get bragging rights, and their menus will be given out all over the property.
Room Decoration Contest Submissions Due — August 25, All Day — Spent a lot of time and effort decorating your room? Post photos of your rooms on Instagram with the hashtag #TheOliverLiving. Prizes will be given out to the top three best rooms voted on by the office staff!
BYO Bowl Ice Cream Social — August 28 from 4–5:30 p.m. — Stop by the office for some ice cream and also to meet your management! They’re excited to introduce themselves to you!
Friend Finder Deadline — August 28–29, All Day — Remember on move-in day when we told you about the Friend Finder worksheet in your folder? All you had to do was find people that live around you who meet those characteristics and fill in their names. The first person to return their completed sheet will receive a $30 gift card to the movie theater!
Win a School Bag Drawing — August 31 @ 5 p.m. live on Facebook — Every time you attend an event, your name will be entered into a drawing to win a school bag jam-packed with school supplies and The Oliver promo items. Make sure you attend the events to not only have fun, but to win these awesome bags!
